The Smart Sharp is suitable for a wide range of kitchen knives, including straight-edge steel knives, hardened steel knives, and wide-serrated knives (such as bread knives). However, it is not recommended for use on ceramic knives, scissors, micro-serrated knives, Japanese-style knives, or knives previously sharpened with whetstones or steels.
